Step 3.1 · Keyword harvest & classification
- What
- Collect candidates from four sources, deduplicate them against the shared volume cache, work the remaining misses through PinClicks, then classify: parent interests, generic keywords, topic clusters, seasonal type and publishing windows.

Recognise a cloaked niche
In sensitive niches Pinterest hides the suggestions. Workaround: run the top 3 pins through PinClicks pin stats and read the annotations there.
Deduplicate against the cache
Volume is a property of the term, not of the client. Anything already looked up does not need looking up again.
Generate work list
Cache misses only, prioritised. That keeps the manual session manageable.
PinClicks session
Work through the list. Fill in volume per term. If you find interesting related keywords along the way, add them: that is where the good finds are.

Assign parent interests
The taxonomy threads. At least five. These become your board names.

Determine generic keywords
The test: does this apply to every product? If not, it belongs in a cluster. Five to ten of them.

Form topic clusters
At least three clusters of 10 to 15 keywords. Cluster by product, moment, colour, size, material or season. Moment usually works best on Pinterest.

Seasonal classification
Evergreen, seasonal or micro-trend, read from the curve in Pinterest Trends. Micro-trends never become a board.
Calculate publishing windows
Six to ten weeks before the peak. For Black Friday and Christmas, earlier still. Publishing too late is the most common mistake.
Align keywords with the client
Some terms perform well but clash with the positioning. Better to know now than afterwards.
Step 3.2 · Profile optimisation

- Write a display name under sixty-five characters containing a keyword with real volume, a bio under five hundred characters weaving in around five keywords with a CTA, and check the profile photo and cover on both desktop and mobile.

Display name
Maximum 65 characters: brand name plus one broad keyword. Anyone searching that keyword also sees profiles. The cheapest win available.

Profile photo and cover
Photo 1:1 and sharp. Check the cover on desktop and mobile, the crop differs. If the client sells to both genders, show that.

Step 3.3 · Board architecture

- Finalise twenty to thirty boards mapped to parent-interest topics, check coverage, write four-hundred-to-four-eighty character descriptions, schedule creation at maximum three boards per day, create them as protected, seed ten to fifteen pins each, and flip to public at ten pins.

Four hundred to 480 characters, board name in the first sentence, five to ten keywords in running sentences. Missing descriptions are the most common mistake.

Select seeding pins
Ten to fifteen existing pins per board. Never content from a competitor: that leaks conversion traffic away. This opens as soon as the first board exists on Pinterest — you do not wait for all of them. Boards keep being created three a day in the background, and each new one can be warmed the day it appears. The boards library shows how many are still to come.
